This is to give you the heads up that there will be all sorts of prayer opportunities during these days. A highlight will be the 24-7 Prayer Hub taking place from 5pm 26 May till 5pm 27 May, live in St James’ church, similar to the Maundy Thursday prayer vigil. Email Melody Barnett melodybarnett@gmail.com if you are interested in doing an hour slot. More details and joining instructions will follow. If you want to pray at home a virtual prayer room is open during this time. This means you sign up for an hour and pray at home. Resources and suggestions as to how you might use this time will be available. Sign up HERE https://pray.24-7prayer.com/signup/273d11

2023 Advert

As we unite in anguish for the plight of the people of Ukraine  many people are asking, ‘what can we do?’

At this stage – and mindful that there is a long road ahead – we would highlight two dimensions for response:

  1. Spiritually: let’s continue to pray for peace. For no less than a change of heart from Putin; and for God’s mercy amid the turmoil, especially for all those in dire straits. There is a prayer station in the St Nicholas' chapel at St James' and online resources are available on the diocesan website here

  2. Financially: we can keep giving financial aid through the charities and funds which are working on the ground. We encourage in particular a church-to-church channel, so that we empower our brothers and sisters in Ukraine and bordering countries – such as through the Ukraine Emergency Appeal which is a joint venture between the Diocese in Europe and USPG.
